A letter from your Nursing '66 Bursary recipient

Dear Nursing '66 classmates,

I am incredibly grateful for your generosity and for the opportunity your scholarship has given me. Your support has made a meaningful difference in my university experience and has allowed me to pursue opportunities that I may not have been able to otherwise.

One of the most meaningful opportunities this scholarship has made possible is taking a research course that allows me to complete an independent study. Having the chance to explore research more deeply is something I am genuinely excited about, as I have developed a strong interest in evidence-based nursing practice. This experience is allowing me to strengthen my research skills and better understand how research can translate into meaningful improvements in patient care.

Beyond helping me financially, your support has given me the freedom to explore my interests and grow into the kind of nurse I hope to become. It has encouraged me to make the most of my education and to seek experiences that will challenge me, expand my perspective, and prepare me for my future career.

As I look toward the future, I hope to work in pediatrics and make a positive difference in the lives of children and their families. I also hope to take on leadership roles in research and quality improvement within clinical settings. I want to be a nurse who not only provides compassionate care, but also uses research and evidence to continuously improve the care patients receive.

Thank you for believing in students like me and for investing in my education and future. I truly appreciate the difference your support has made in my journey toward becoming a nurse.

Thank you!

Nursing '66 Bursary recipient, 2026
